The first one I purchased did not work when we plugged it in it made a terrible clanking sound would not blow cold air at all. We called for service but no one ever returned our calls apparently they could not find a tech in our area. But a call back would of been good. We ordered a second one returned the other to where we purchased it. But 2 weeks in Tennessee in August with no air was quite miserable for two older people. The second one has been in a week and is working great.

Our LG air conditioner is great. Our downstairs is now always at a consistent temperature. The energy saver shuts the air conditioner off when the rooms hit the desired set temp then automatically goes back on when the rooms get warmer. My husband loves the remote control so he doesnt always have to get up go the the room where the air conditioner is change the setting. We know that now our rooms are ALWAYS at the temperature that we selected instead of us always going to our former air conditioner to fiddle with the controls.

Purchased 2 months ago and the a/c is still under warranty. Dealing with LG is short of a nightmare. In the past 2 weeks- we have waited for their technician to declare it unfixable wait for the engineering team to review and approve the technicians report and are now waiting on the presidential liaison to approve the findings. All we want is a refund or replacement. Instead we are getting a runaround.

Much Money Time Lost

A/C: I picked up my air conditioner from Home Depot today and even though the box was slightly damaged the unit seemed fine. However trying to fit it into a Keystone-brand sleeve was a disaster. Home Depots recommendation was way off this sleeve is a poor match if you care about a proper setup. I considered buying the LG AXSVA1 sleeve but customer said it was poor quality and unbelievably didnt properly fit LG air conditioners. The installation was a headache and took way too long. To make matters worse the unit is ridiculously loud on any setting other than fan mode with a high-pitched noise and vibrations that will drive you crazy. I called LGs service line and after a series of tests we ruled out installation and construction issues. Now Im stuck with a 100-pound paperweight and hoping the sleeve is to blame. Both the manufacturer and Home Depot need to step up their game with their recommendations and quality. Sleeve: The recommended Keystone sleeve is NOT compatible with the LG LT1236CER model which raises questions about LG and Home Depots recommendations. During installation it was a struggle to fit the LG into the sleeve even WITHOUT the around insulation strip and two 1 shims. The around insulation strips were tore out when inserting the AC into the sleeve happens with every installation and the addition of two 1 shim strips at the base prohibits AC installation due to inadequate clearance. To achieve the necessary 1/4 slope for proper drainage youll have to create your own shims to jam in the bottom. Additionally it is not possible to attach a rear grill as it conflicts with the air conditioners extended rear plastic louvers. If you dont go with the grill youll just have the fragile rear metal fins exposed to the elements.

Poor Performance Beware

I purchased this unit last May of 2023 less than a year ago and the amount of cool air which it produced is only fair. This was noticed from the beginning. Its very warm in my sons room where we have placed this unit due to the heaters on during the winter months so we run the AC a lot to cool it. I have come to find out it doesnt work when the temperatures are even slightly below freezing. We had a Frigidaire which was in the room when we purchased the apartment so who knows how long it was there prior. It worked wonderfully in any type of weather outside for almost 14 years and probably more as I said it was in place when we purchased the apartment. It was run constantly and there were NO issues. Wish I could find it again. I will never purchase a LG Air conditioner and will recommend others not to as well. Im very disappointed in the performance. I will say their customer service is helpful and very good they cant help that this product isnt.
