bought due to dual inverter technology efficiency and great reviews in Consumer Reports. Very quiet when running and the cooling capacity is outstanding. Installation consisted of sliding the unit into a different brand wall sleeve with just a few sleeve adjustments. Also has wifi control via phone app. Would buy again.

There is no way this unit should have deteriorated as badly as it did in 90 day. They denied my warranty because I am in a Coastal community. I was never advised by Home Depot nor the manufacturers information that this unit would fail within three months because I live near water. I contacted Home Depot a week after my purchase protection was up and they sent me to LG who denied their 1 year warranty. I cannot imagine a company denying a reasonable warranty request due to a clearly defective unit. I will continue to seek a reasonable remedy with all resources necessary.

Stopped Cooling after 4 days

I bought this brand new at home depot. After using it 4 times it quit cooling. It was determined that a repair is needed. It has been over 10 days and LG still has not found a technician to fix this unit. I am in Hawaii and it has been super hot a humid. My house has been sweltering. Home Depot has no more of these units. I have called 4 x and always get someone in the Philippines that really cannot do anything. My case has now been submitted somewhere for refund. I am very unhappy with LGs customer service department and your ac should not be available in areas if you do not have service people to fix them.

Stooped cooling after using only 4 times

I purchased this at home depot. Unit stopped cooling after using only 4 times. The unit is brand new. This is the hottest month of the year and I have no ac. Home depot does not have anymore so I cannot replace it. I went through all the trouble shooting and nothing worked. The compressor starts but it does not cool. I called LG support located in some other country of course and was told they do not have someone in the area on their list to repair so they have to give this to another department. It has now been 6 days and I have not heard back. I should be able to find my own repair person and have LG reimburse me if they do not have someone in my area on their list. I do not recommend LG specifically because of the customer service for repair. This is unacceptable. Its been so hot and I have no ac.

I am very unhappy with the air-conditioned it does not feel like it cools properly it is only putting out a temperature of about 65 degrees. iI have another unit and it has a temperature of 45 degrees. I am very unhappy with the product.

This AC performs well as my sole form of AC for a 100 year old house with no duct work. I enjoy the feature to connect it to my phone so I can keep an eye on the temp for my critters when Im not home. The reason I dont give it 5 stars and this may or may not be justified is because I had to call LG and replace the first one I bought. It worked for an hour then quit cooling. Working with the LG customer service however was a pleasant experience and they did send me text messages about the status of my claim. I also give 4 stars because of the damage on the replacement unit. I just think if I pay over $700 for something it should not be damaged when I receive it. I would normally have called LG about this but I had been without AC in triple digits long enough so I just let it ride since it doesnt seem to drastically affect performance of the unit. When I unboxed it there was a pretty big dent in the outside fins. There was a small rip on one side of the box so perhaps that is how it occurred. Maybe its the fault of Fed Ex. On the front there were several dents in the fins. I only saw the one side with damage on the box so Im not sure how this could have happened. The rest of the packaging was intact.

Home: 960sf Concrete block Unit: 23500BTU cools 1450sf Purchase reason: Central HVAC unit had another leak in copper piping from salt exposure Wanted to try something different from getting another Central HVAC unit got 4 estimates from 2 different HVAC companies: $5000 for a regular 3 ton unit or up to $10000 mini-split or paying for another fix unload reload + replace of Freon to repair the copper line est. $1500. I live on the beach in Florida and we have been experiencing 95*F with 98 humidity weather day after day. After getting the estimates on repairing my Central HVAC Trane 3ton or replacing it I decided to get this unit. I figured that my home is small and this LG could easily cool 960sf since it is rated to 1450sf- Reasoning: 1. $700 is cheaper than a repair AND 2. I get something brand new that covers the entire house AND 3. that I dont have to pay an annual maintenance fee for someone to visit my home twice a year AND 4. I dont have to pay for an expensive quarterly Filtrete filter replacements. This unit with the Dual Inverter feature is exactly like getting a mini-split- I love the mini-split because the air from those seems so fresh and crisp compared to HVAC duct air. The price tag for a mini-split was much more than I wanted to spend $10000. I paid a handyman to build a wooden support out of 2x4s for my beast to rest its 112lbs on. This unit is amazing The air is so clean fresh and crisp coming out of it :

I purchased this ac last summer and it has already failed. The fan speed ramps up and down and you can hear the compressor not staging up like it should resulting in hot air. This is the second lg Ive had in 3 years. The first barely made it to two years before the control board failed followed by a compressor and it was not an inverter style. Im done with these junk units. I paid around $800 for both units one from Best Buy and one from Amazon and neither will back up the product and warranty them. Sad I thought lg had a great product now here we are in triple digit heat with no ac while Im trying to find another brand.

I bought this from Home Depot at retail price. I did not receive it for free nor at a discounted price from LG. I researched a lot of current air conditioners and chose this LG 23500 BTU unit because my last LG 14500 BTU lasted 16 years without any problems. This new unit is designed for 1400 sq ft I have 1560 sq ft yet I hoped this Dual Inverter would handle it. The last few weeks have had many 90+ degree high humidity days and it has handled it. I also love the Slinger Fan. It eliminates the need for a drain hose as it blows the moisture over the coils helping to cool them and then into the outside air. I am happy with this air conditioner. My only 2 problems were related to the ThinQ mobile app. I created a simple schedule - ON in the morning Fan High F3 with Energy Saver. The fan never stopped. I called Tech Support which was the most negative thing Id read in pre-purchase reviews. I spent 45 mins only to be told the Engineer said Start in COOL wait a few minutes then switch to Energy Saver. That did NOT work. What does work to Set Fan to Medium F2 and Energy Saver works correctly. The second problem was that after 7 days the unit stopped responding to the ThinQ app. ThinQ is a mystery with NO manual coming with the unit nor could one be found online. I re-read owners manual Nothing. I Googled for an answer Nothing. I searched Reddit Nothing. I deleted and re-created the Schedule Nothing. I uninstalled reinstalled the App Nothing. When I reconnected to my Xfinity Wifi it said Cant connect to 5.0 Ghz. So knowing 2.4 Ghz is often preferred I connected to a wifi extender with a dedicated 2.4 Ghz channel and it worked. No more problems in the weeks following.

This one replaces the one I bought two months ago. This one works great but the first one was leaking refrigerant from the beginning. Unfortunately we installed it semi permanently before we turned it on. It was difficult to get out because we used spray insulation to seal it which was like concrete trying to get out. Plus it was an hour each way to get to the store. So always check to make sure it works before installing. Its being used for my shop in the garage and has to be very cool and like I said the second one works great hope for years.

6 months after we bought it it quit working. LG said it had a freon leak. It worked great until 1 day it just stopped and gave a code. Called LG they sent out a tech. Tech didnt know or care about what he was doing. 3 weeks later we finally got approved for a refund. Still waiting for that.
