I had a very traumatizing experience with this AC unit. When I initially turned it on, there was a styrofoam smell that came out of the vents. I thought it was a residual odor from the styrofoam used in the packaging. So, I left the AC on so that the odor could dissipate and left the room. When I returned a few hours later, I was hit with a noxious smell. My lungs started to burn as well as my eyes began to water and burn immediately. I left the room, and rinsed out my eyes right away. I went back into the room to turn off the AC, open a window, and turn on my ceiling fan to assist in airing out the room. It took a few days for the odor to dissipate. However, the scent had embedded into my bedding, and curtains and other surfaces.In the meantime:I sought medical attention for my lungs. The next day, I called Frigidaires customer service and they told me my symptoms were not typical with coolant exposure - however, Poison Control said otherwise- and there wasn't much they could do other than work with me in getting a replacement. The only thing is that the odor was so concentrated, I couldn't discern if it was indeed a coolant smell. I'm frustrated with customer service's response, and that there is no agency or company that can/will test window AC's for what was emitted . HVAC yes, but window AC's no. I also have to spend more money on remediating the room.

My daughter didn't want an air conditioner for the heat in the North East this past week. I got her just a small 6,000 BTU one. SHe loves it! It cools her room off really well. SOme mornings she even complained it was too cold. I would definitely recommend this to everyone. It's not real loud and the timer is a great function! We even left her bedroom door open during the day when we had it on and it even helped cool off the kitchen. Great air conditioner!

I typically don't write reviews for products but felt compelled to do so in the hopes of helping a prospective future buyer who is on a strict budget but needs a reliable and long lasting AC unit.I did extensive research on getting AC unit. I was going to go with Midea U-shaped before it was recalled due to mold. Went with this one due to all the positive reviews and having had Frigidaire ACs in my childhood home during the 90s. I have a less that 150 square foot bedroom, followed all installation instructions to the word, reviewed page 22-23 of the use and care manual for potential fixes to issues but the AC unit simply isn't doing what I expected. I have bought second hand ACs from the 90s (used in hotter weather when I lived in New Orleans, LA than currently is in New England USA) that worked better than this without any manual or extra instruction for install and care. I also think it's a bit of a harsh return policy (10 days after receipt without being used to be eligible). Not sure how one could know if the AC meets their expectations in that time especially without being able to use it. Bottom line, I believe the AC is fine and would work in more temperate climates but not worth the $. I have had Frigidaire products before and this one falls short of what I expect as far as quality. Will be going with Midea likely for the AC I am planning to purchase for my living room in the coming weeks. It's not the weather being too hot nor a user error, this is just too expensive for what you get. One other thing, I think it should be noted that spending an extra $30 for one of the units to be "ready" for a better filter is a bit misleading. My expectation was the product would come with one such filter and the purchaser would be required to buy replacements.The planet is getting too hot and most people are having a hard time making ends meet as it is. Please do better for your consumers. Remember, most of us are not wealthy enough to make a poor purchase choice more than once.Thank you.

So far, so good. It is definitely quieter than our previous units and does a good job cooling. It does take a bit of time to cool down my room (150 sq ft) but we are using the air filter as well which might play a role. But room does get cool.The display is difficult to see in the daytime from across the room as it is a white light on white background. The remote also doesn't display anything digitally, which would have been very helpful to determine what the unit's temp is set to and what other settings the unit is currently on.

The AC is very slim in the front which makes me able to close my 2nd window (installed for soundproofing). It was louder than I thought it would be and is not the quietest AC I own. It is working ok after 2 weeks.

Replaced quiet GE AC with this one. It is in a bedroom where I watch TV, occasionally talk on phone and sleep. Unable to do any with this AC, this unit roars. Tried different Modes (Cool/Eco) and Fan (Low to Auto) speeds but this is the nosiest AC I have owned in 40 years. Returning today.

Well designed, quiet, and very easy to install. Found the Eco mode not that great, and just preferred just using the ™Cooling™ mode all the time, which means the fan runs all the time, which is fine with me, since it™™s so quiet. I believe the thermostat calibration is oof, and needed to set the temperature at 68 degrees to achieve a 72 degree room, which is fine. No complaints.

Great features perfect for out small hut in the back yard! Haven™™t installed it yet but look forward and it checks every box ™" not too loud, good size, dehumidifier, filter option, and low energy use. Frigidaire has a great reliability reputation which was one reason we go this also.

I bought the previous model on 2019 and still works magnificent. After my another brand conditioner broke up, decided to buy again the trusted conditioner that is still working perfectly that has a filter upgrade and smaller frame.
